Projects in Development

We have a number of different projects in development at the moment and discussions with several clients are ongoing.

The Battle of Fulford was very well received at the screenings for participants at Fulford Village Hall and the public at King’s Manor. However reports on the finding are now coming in and an update will be forthcoming soon. We are also planning to film this year’s dig at the end of July.

Community Archaeologist of the Year, Jon Kenny and I are exploring other aspects of the conflict with a view to shooting at various locations in the region: Cawood, Riccal and Stamford Bridge all played significant roles in the action.

We are setting up a YouTube channel later in the  year and will be recording and uploading an ongoing series of short films with a heritage theme as well as our occasional special features.

Jon and I will also be doing more with Jane Stockdale at York Archaeological Trust, expanding the work already done with Landscapes of Remembrance. A series of ‘talking head’ interviews with people associated with York monuments that will further develop our understanding of their place in modern society. We are in discussion about a range of possible future projects.

In collaboration with Jim Turner, over in Leeds, we have begun shooting a pilot for Outdoor Classrooms, a company specialising in environmentally sensitive educational materials, made from chemical free timber sourced from sustainably managed woodland. We are also looking at several music related projects: tutorials for building your own electronic tracks and electric guitar tuition.

The Adult Learner Awards 2016 for York Learning is coming up again in May and in July there is the Primary Schools Public Speaking Competition with York Civic Trust. We are in discussion with YCT about a York Heritage project.

We’ll be joining forces with York Filming & Editing again for a series of conferences in York and Cambridgeshire later in the year.
